Scouting Stay n' Go: The Best Way to End a Day
After a long stretch of highway cruising in the "Dog House on Wheels," there is nothing better than pulling into a campground where the setup takes about five minutes flat. That’s exactly what happened when we pulled off Interstate 10 at Exit 142 into Stay n' Go RV Park in Marianna, Florida.
Big Rig Friendly & Zero Hassle
As Director of PR, I appreciate smooth logistics. The pull-through sites here are massive, meaning the humans didn't even have to unhook the tow vehicle! We pulled straight into our long, level pad, lowered the jacks, plugged in the 50-amp shore power, and we were officially done for the day.
The Security & Sniff Report
Patches immediately hopped down to conduct her evening perimeter sweep.
"Shadow, take a look at this," Patches reported, tail swishing with approval. "The entire perimeter is lined with wide, open green spaces! No tight corners, no weird obstructions, and plenty of room for an extended leash walk."
She wasn't wrong. The grounds are clean, well-kept, and perfect for getting in those long evening sniffs to stretch our legs after hours on the road. For dogs who spend the day balancing in a moving motorhome, having wide-open turf right outside the door is pure heaven.
For the humans, late arrivals are a breeze. The park is open 24/7, bright, well-lit, and super easy to navigate even after the sun goes down. Plus, the cell signal is solid, so the humans could get right back online to upload our latest travel updates.
It was quiet, peaceful, and easily the best way to wrap up a big day of driving.
Human Notes:
Shadow and Patches loved the smells, but here is what the humans loved about this stop. If you are traveling through the Florida Panhandle with dogs and a big rig, this is a spot you’ll want to bookmark.
The Location: The park is perfectly situated for travelers. It is located in Marianna, Florida, just off I-10 (Exit 142). It’s far enough from the highway to stay quiet, but close enough that you aren't winding through tight city streets in a motorhome.
Why we liked it:
- Easy Access: They offer spacious pull-through sites, which was a lifesaver for us. We didn't even have to unhook the toad for our overnight stay.
- Pet Friendly: The "perimeter walk" Shadow mentioned is great. There is plenty of green space for the dogs to stretch their legs after a long day in the Florida Caverns State Park.
- Connectivity: We were able to get some work done without the Wi-Fi dropping—a rarity in some of the more rural parks!
How to find them:
- Address: 2392 Highway 71 S, Marianna, FL 32448
- Phone: (850) 482-1114
- Website:stayngorv.com
Pro-Tip: If you’re arriving after dark like we sometimes do, the park is well-lit and the signage is clear. Just look for the big "Stay n' Go" sign right off Hwy 71!
