🐚 Shells, Fake Grass, and the Ultimate Dog Bed: Margaritaville Rally Arrival
Today, we pulled into Camp Margaritaville RV Resort in Auburndale, Florida, for a big RV rally!
From inside the "Dog House on Wheels," it looked like a standard, top-tier resort. But the moment the steps dropped and my paws hit the ground, my internal radar went off. The entire site pad wasn't just gravel—it was completely covered in tiny, crushed sea shells!
I immediately nudged Shadow and initiated a tactical debrief.
"Hey Shadow, look down! It looks like we're standing at the bottom of the ocean! Look at all these shells. There have got to be some incredible salt-water sniffs hidden around here."
Shadow took a slow, refined sniff of the air, tilted her head, and replied: "Patches, we are in the middle of Polk County, nowhere near the beach. But I have to admit, crushed shell gravel is surprisingly easy on the paw pads."
Satisfied with the shell situation, I turned my attention to the campsite lawn. Standing right next to our rig was a patch of the most vibrant, bright-green grass I have ever seen in my life. It was perfectly manicured—not a single weed, not a blade out of place.
I trotted over to do a proper sniff inspection, dropped my nose to the turf, and... wait a minute.
No soil scent. No damp earth. No bugs.
"What is this?!" I barked, backing up a step. "Is this some kind of trick? Is the grass fake?"
Shadow trotted over, sat down smoothly right in the center of the artificial turf, and gave me her classic PR smile. "Patches, my dear security chief, don't overthink it. Someone clearly laid out a massive, site-wide green dog bed just for us. Which means my security shift is over, and it's officially nap time."
Honestly? She wasn't wrong. Fake or not, it's cool, clean, and 100% fire-ant-free!
🐾 Patches' Rally Site Verdict:
10/10 for crushed-shell perimeter aesthetics, 10/10 for giant outdoor turf dog beds.
