The Case of the Missing Food Vault: The Summer Odyssey Begins

I knew it. I told Patches days ago, but she was too busy tracking a lizard near the porch to listen to seasoned intelligence.

For the past seventy-two hours, the humans have been engaging in a very specific set of behaviors at our Florida base camp. Bags have been moving. The "Dog House on Wheels" has been humping with activity. My internal sensors immediately flagged the data: A massive summer adventure is imminent.

Personally, I am crossing my paws that we are heading somewhere north. The Florida heat is currently intense, and my thick coat is practically begging for a crisp, cool breeze.

The Friday Morning Discovery

It happened this morning—Friday.

My routine is sacred. Every single morning, I walk into the kitchen for Phase One: a thorough inspection of my food bowl and water bucket. Once I verify that the sustenance levels are correct, I proceed to Phase Two: a tactical perimeter walk around the property. You have to keep the local squirrels on their toes; they are incredibly sneaky, and you can never trust what they’ve been plotting overnight while I was off duty.

But this morning, Phase One came to a grinding halt.

I walked into the kitchen, coasting toward my usual spot, and stopped dead in my tracks. My big bucket of food was completely gone. It wasn't in its normal corner. I stopped, lowered my nose, and looked around the room.

For a split second, I panicked. Had the squirrels pulled off the ultimate heist? Had Patches managed to open the lid?

Then, I caught the scent. It wasn't a theft. The heavy, plastic food vault hadn't vanished into thin air—it had been loaded directly into the belly of the Class A.

The Verdict: It's Go-Time

When the humans pack the food vault, it means one thing: the pre-flight checks are complete, and we are officially hitting the road.

I ran out to the yard to find Patches and delivered the official brief. We aren't just going for a weekend spin; the big vault means we’re going the distance. My paws are ready, my bags are packed (conceptually, at least), and I am ready to see where the highway takes us.

Stay tuned, companions. The "Dog House on Wheels" is rolling out!
